Join us for an exceptional celebration of the harp on Saturday, February 21, 2026 on the beautiful campus of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC! UNCSA HARP DAY features a full day of enriching activities for harpists of all ages and levels! Enjoy a masterclass, technique seminar, lunch with new friends, campus tour, playing in harp ensemble, and performing on the day's closing concert in Crawford Hall!

Masterclass with Courtney Hershey Bress, Principal Harpist of the Colorado Symphony

Public can register to audit/observe the masterclass here / Cost $20 per person

Join us for a masterclass with international harp soloist Courtney Hershey Bress in the Carnegie Room, located in Hege Academic Commons at Guilford College. Ms. Bress will also perform Michael Daugherty’s captivating harp concerto Harp of Ages with the Greensboro Symphony (GSO) on Saturday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the Steven Tanger Center. International soloist and principal harpist Courtney Hershey Bress joined the Colorado Symphony in 2001 after a distinguished freelance career that included performances with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and nationwide tours as Principal Harpist with the United States Army Field Band. A sought-after master teacher and speaker, Bress is Professor of Harp at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, Lecturer of Harp at the University of Wyoming, and has held faculty positions at Colorado State University and the Eastman School of Music. Bress holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and the Chicago College of Performing Arts. Her teachers include Sarah Bullen, Kathleen Bride, and Gretchen Van Hoesen. The Academy is for harpists that want to be immersed in their music, surrounded by a community of artists that nurture creativity and artistic excellence.

Enjoy 1-week of intensive solo and chamber music study with world-class performers and dedicated teachers led by Jacquelyn Bartlett and Grace Ludtke. The Academy is held on the beautiful campus of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC.

NC Harp Ensemble / "Sounds of Angels" Tour 2025

The NC Harp Ensemble brings the scintillating sounds of six harps to venues throughout the state this holiday season! “Sounds of Angels” features music from the classical canon (such as Braga’s Angel’s Serenade), beloved folk songs (like Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Greensleeves), and festive carols (including O Holy Night and Deck the Halls). The concert features professional and student harpists from across the state. A concert sure to make your season bright!

Noel Wan Harp Concert

Noel Wan presents a solo harp recital at First Presbyterian Church in Burlington, NC. Free concert, public welcome.

Lauded as “a huge talent [with] hidden power and amazing maturity” (Bart van Oort), Taiwanese-American harpist Noël Wan made her international debut with the Utrecht Symphony Orchestra in 2010. An acclaimed soloist, she has performed across North America, Europe, and Asia. Noël is a winner of the 2023 Astral Artists National Competition, the first Taiwanese harpist to win Gold Medal in the USA International Harp Competition–one of the world’s most prestigious harp competitions.

Parker Ramsay has forged a career defying easy categorization. Equally at home on modern and period harps, he pursues his passions in tackling new and underperformed works and bringing his instrument to new audiences. Raised in Tennessee, Parker began harp studies with his mother, Carol McClure. He served as organ scholar at King’s College, Cambridge before pursuing graduate studies at Oberlin and Juilliard.
